Come Listen to a Prophet's Voice

Coming this Saturday & Sunday, I get the chance to watch & listen to General Conference

I always get excited and look forward to General Conference.

It's one of my favorite times of the year! Counting down the days!

Josh makes a nice big breakfast each morning as

we cuddle up together in our pj's in front our tv.

The spirit is always so strong.

I receive answers to my prayers.

I recieve knowledge and inspiration.

I feel God's love more than ever.

I have been making a big effort to

journal more, not only for me but for

our children and future generations to come.

So far I have started a daily journal,

a scriputure/quotes journal,

and now a General Conference journal!

I came across this great idea on Crystal's blog, Jocelyn's blog and Lara's blog
I liked the idea so much that I decided to give it a try!

Yesterday my sweet Husband surprised me with two

leather journals and took me to Office Max to have

the pictures printed and lamenated. He literally took

the time to cut out every single picture, lamenate it

and then tape it into my journals for me last night.

BEST husband a girl could EVER ask for!!

 I now have a journal where I can record my favorite bits of 
wisdom expounded by our leaders over multiple conference sessions.

Loving: All the fun trends for Spring! Bermuda shorts, black & white, statement sunglasses, bold stripes, beading, sporty dress, flats, low heels, hearts, polka dots and bright neon colors, maxi skirts/dresses, and pastels. What I am currently looking for is a studded cross-body purse. 
F21 has some really cute ones too! Ugh! I wish there was a F21 closer to my house!! Right across 
the street from where I work (within walking distance) there is an H&M and a Charlotte Russe but NO Forever 21. Come on people! Well..I guess that might not be such a good idea because guess 
where I would be spending my lunch?!?! That could be very dangerous! Yeah...I dont think the Hubs and our bank account would like that too much. I guess it's best for F21 to be farther away from me....

Watching: Shark Tank. Okay...is it just the Hubs and I, or are you just as obsessed with this show as we are? We can't get enough of it! Not sure what the show is about?? The series features a panel of potential investors called "sharks" who consider offers from aspiring entreprenuers seeking investments for their business or product. The entrepreneur or "contestant" can make a deal on the spot if an investor is interested but the panel of potential investors also may opt out and the contestant leaves without a deal. Panel members include Kevin O'Leary, Barbara Corcoran, Daymond John, Kevin Harrington, Mark Cuban, Robert Herjavec, Jeff Foxworthy and Lori Greiner.

Eating: Lots of salad. I literally have it everyday for lunch. With my stomach problems, it's one of the few foods that doesn't make my stomach hurt. I have recently discovered Kale Salad. Oh yumm!

My favorite! Health benefits of Kale: low in calorie, high in fiber, high in iron, high in vitamin K, filled with powerful antioxidants, anti-inflammatory food, great for cardiovascular support, high in vitamin A, high in vitamin C, high in calcium, great detox food. My advice: eat more kale!!

Reading: Whisperings of the Spirit by Nancy Murphy. I am totally engrossed in this book! 

I can't put it down. I just started reading it last night. Ummmm..I think I will be done by Sunday.

Book Description: The Holy Ghost is always whispering to us. Through the Spirit we receive guidance that can be acquired in no other way. But are we listening? Communicating with the Holy Ghost is a process, not an event. Whisperings of the Spirit offers inspiration and guidance for seeking, recognizing, and acting on the promptings of the Holy Ghost. The author identifies some of the things that stand in the way of fully realizing our relationship with the Holy Ghost and provides specific suggestions to help us remember the whisperings of the Spirit.

Learning: SO much right now! Too much to write! I have been making it a daily habit to write in my journal at night before I go to bed. I want my journal(s) to be something that our kids read and pass on down to their kids and so on. The Savior emphasized the importance of keeping records. One of the most valuable records are the ones we keep of our own personal lives. Where would we be if Moses hadn't written his history of the world, those first five vital books of the Old Testament? He had the background, the data, the record, and the inclination, and he has blessed us throughout the eternities for the service he rendered in writing the first five books of the Bible. How grateful we should be that Abraham wrote his own life story and that important segment of the history of the world and his own revelations, thoughts, feelings, and rich experiences. We are so blessed!! My journal includes my thoughts, my testimony, personal feelings, important events, my personal triumphs, failures and struggles, and simple occurrences in my daily life. I love to write! I believe its healthy for the soul. I love looking back on some of my journal entries to see how much I have grown, how far I have come, and how much the Lord is working in my life. I feel deeply in my heart that God has some really good things in store for us that are going to happen really soon. I can't wait to see how it all unfolds in His timetable. I am excited to see what He has in store! He is so good!

Looking forward to: Spring and Summer! I think it has pretty much arrived here in Arizona. This week, the temperature is creeping up towards the 90's. You know what that means right?!?! Laying poolside with friends and getting my tan on! I can't say that I am looking forward to the 100's and 115's, but those only last for just a few months...so I think I can tough it out. That is the one thing I LOVE about living in Arizona. The weather is ALWAYS so nice. I love waking up to sunshine every day! I am not complaining one little bit!

Hey Dearies :) I'm Kiera from Artistic Fascination. I live in England and currently study at a university, I love the student lifestyle and all the opportunities it presents. What is hope and what do you hope for? 
"And now as I said concerning faith—faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true." 
-Alma 32:21 
I memorized this scripture during early morning Seminary (scripture study class for youth 14-18yrs) and it really stuck with me. I believe to hope is to have an active desire, to have a belief in something greater. My main hope is to be truly happy in life. To feel fulfilled and accomplished, in all areas. Goals, pushing myself and having an eternal perspective helps me to bear in mind what is important.

How do you live your faith?
Every member is a convert whether or not they grew up in the church. Having my own personal testimony and foundation of faith is vital. Putting to the test each element through prayer, study (both secular and spiritual), pondering and actively living the commandments enables me to gain a deeper understanding and trust in the Lord. I view each day as an adventure, one where I learn about life, the gospel, others and myself. I constantly strive to be the best version of myself by drawing closer to my Heavenly Father as I know he loves me and will enable me to reach my full potential and perfect state of joy. I already feel so blessed.

I'm Kaolee. I'm a convert to the Church and was baptized when I was 20 years old. My husband was a missionary where I lived and knocked on my aunt's door when I was living with her. Little did I know that was the beginning of something amazing. I'm a CPA and work in the audit department of a public accounting firm. How do you live your faith? I live my faith by being an example. I'm not perfect. I make mistakes. But I know that I am trying my best to follow His example and to love others always.

I'm Tessa. I'm 22 years old. This last July I got married to the sweetest, kindest, talented man, Marcus. Sometimes we get strange looks in public because I'm 5 feet 1 inch tall, and he's 6 feet 5 inches. We think we're the cutest ever though. :) We met in Utah, but the week after we got married we unexpectedly moved to Boise, where he's from. It's been an adventure, but we're happy to be going through it together. I'm the youngest of 5 girls. He's the oldest of 9, only one of those being a girl. I have the best family I could ask for! What is hope and what do you hope for?

Hope, to me, is having the faith that everything we go through in life will be beyond worth it in the end. Hope is to endure. Life is a constant challenge. We have battles and trials consistently being thrown in our paths. My hope is that I can endure it all, and in a way pleasing to our Heavenly Father. I hope to get through mortal life with my loving husband, and my future family altogether, then to enter eternal life together forever. 

How do you live with your faith?

My faith is how I am able to live. My faith is what gets me through the hardest of times, along with the happiest times. I try my best to live the ways Christ taught. When I mess up, I go to him for help and forgiveness.

What is hope and what do you hope for?

Hope is believing in the good things to come.  It's keeping your head up after a hard day in hopes of a good day tomorrow.  In my life, I hope I can everything I can to help others and be an example of good in the world.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a standing example of Jesus Christ and everything my church stands for.  I live my faith by loving it and believing in it.  It's a lot easier to stand up for what I believe in and be an example when I have a foundation of love for my church.  I also live my faith by living it fully and obediently.  I believe the greatest blessings come when you don't try to take short cuts and you fulfill all that you are asked to do.

Hey Lovelies, I’m Brielle! I blog over at Simply You and Me,  so make sure to drop by and say hi sometime! I’m a wife to a handsome aspiring author and a momma to a sweet (new) baby girl! What is hope? What do you hope for?

To me hope is the light that keeps you going every day! Life can be so challenging at times, and having the smallest amount of hope can bring you happiness. With so many tragic events that have occurred in the past year, hope is something that keeps that light burning. I hope for happiness to continue to direct my life. I hope to raise my daughter to know she is a daughter of God. That she can accomplish anything as long as she continues to believe in her Savior. I hope to continue my marriage with the strength that keeps me going every day! I hope to continue to be a light to those struggling with their own faith and happiness. 

How I live my faith:

I’ve been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life. I was blessed to be raised in such an environment that has truly shaped me into the woman I am today! I live my faith by being the person I know Heavenly Father wants me to be. By understanding why I am here on earth, it has helped me focus on what’s truly important. It’s easy to get so caught up in worldly things. By following my Savior and his commandments, I am able to stay strong and faithful in what I believe.

I am so grateful for this gospel and for the strength it gives me every day!

What is hope and what do you hope for?

 Hope is always looking and pressing forward for good things to come. 

  When we have hope, we trust God's

promises. We have a quiet assurance that if we do "the works of righteousness," we "shall receive our reward, even peace in this world, and eternal life in the world to come" (D&C 59:23). Mormon taught that such hope comes only through the Atonement of Jesus Christ: "What is it that ye shall hope for? Behold I say unto you that ye shall have hope through the atonement of Christ and the power of his resurrection, to be raised unto life eternal, and this because of your faith in him according to the promise" (Moroni 7:41). The prophet Moroni taught, "Whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God" (Ether 12:4).

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living trying to live each day to become more and more like Jesus Christ. I make sure that I pray every morning and night and meditate on Gods word daily to find answers, comfort, peace, happiness and to draw closer to my Father in Heaven. I try to share the Gospel with everyone around me and help people who are in need. I find true happiness in helping and serving other around me.

What is hope and what do you hope for?

Hope to me is trusting in the Lord, and knowing that he is mindful of you at all times. The world right now is a very scary place, and I take comfort in knowing that Heavenly Father knows who I am, knows what I strive to be and do, and I has a plan for me.  I hope for my daughter now and my future children that they will be able to find and know their true purpose and meaning and they will embrace and love the gospel in the same way that I love it.

How do I live my faith?

I live my faith by trying to be understanding of all people’s situations. I think many times we are too quick to judge others. The way that they act, the way that they dress, the things that they do, when in reality we may not really know what is going on in their lives. Everyone is fighting a hard battle, and it is important to me to be empathetic of others and try to keep in mind that everyone has flaws, and I should not look down or judge others in the same way I hope others would not judge my flaws. Christ loved all people, and as I strive to be more like the Savior (which is SUPER hard by the way), I learn to love people regardless of how they act or what they look like.

I Am a Mormon Monday: Doranda

Hi, I'm Doranda and this is my blog.  I started it a couple years ago not really knowing what to write about. So I write about what I know.  My family!  My life!  My struggles and successes.  As it turns out, I actually have a lot more going on in my life than I first realized.  My three little redheads keep me pretty busy.  But when I have time to myself I love to take pictures, read, try new things, blog, Photoshop, and talk to any grown up I can find (emphasis on the grown up part).

 

Hope is all the possible good things that could come in the future.  Hope is anything wanting the sun to shine to wanting a long healthy life.  Hope is what keeps us going and what makes it possible for me to have a good attitude in any situation.  I hope for so many things.  Mostly about my kids.  I want them to grow up healthy and happy.  I hope they can live in a world where they can make good choices and be their very best.

I live my faith everyday.  When I have it together I really am living my faith every moment of every day.  What I believe in is the root of everything I do.  It isn't just about going to church on Sunday, but trying to emulate Christ in every decision I make.

I Am a Mormon Monday

About Me: 

 My name is Cassidy and I am a blogger at Things Like Skeleton Keys. I am a 27 year old girl from Alabama who still loves to play dress up and daydream. I have a little boy with blond curly hair and the sweetest spirit. I have a husband who makes me laugh and is patient and kind. I am friendly, emotional, strong, and artistic. I love strawberries and dark chocolate.

I have been Mormon my whole life, and having the gospel in my life has shaped me into the woman I am today.  Although I've always felt different than many of my peers, I learned that the key to my happiness was staying true to myself.  The knowledge of the peace I could obtain from staying true to myself and what I knew to be true was a lesson learned through many years of trial and error.  I understood the gospel at an early age, and felt confident in my beliefs.  Whenever I found myself straying from the gospel, I found myself unhappy.  I don't know if has to do with personal integrity, or an overbearingly persistent cricket on my shoulder, but I could never be truly happy unless I was doing what was right by following the Gospel, and to me it has always been that simple!    

I believe we all have the responsibility to love one another, and to help one another, and I find it my personal mission to make this world more lovely and magical for the people around me.  I don't like scary movies, I don't like to see other people hurt, and I love to laugh.  And from my favorite article of faith, if there is anything virtuous, lovely, or or good report or praiseworthy, I seek after these things!

I am thankful for a Heavenly Father who loves me, who knows me.  I am thankful for prayer and the peace it brings to my life.  Most of all I am thankful that my family can be together forever.  

What is Hope? What do You Hope For?

To me, hope is the spark inside you that keeps your spirit living day to day, making you work for something, strive for something, daydream for something.  Hope can lift you from despair and make you try harder for goals.  If we didn't hope for anything, we wouldn't have a burning inside of us to do better day by day.

I hope my child has a happy childhood and knows he is loved.  I hope my marriage never loses the tender love that makes us one.  I constantly hope for health and happiness for my family.  I hope that one day I will go to a ball.  Hope is the love of a dream.  

How I live My Faith:

I live my faith by trying to be an example of Jesus Christ.  I live my faith by trying to become a better person everyday.  I live my faith by following the commandments everyday.  I live my faith by serving my family.   I live my faith by attending church meetings and doing what I can to serve there.  When you live your faith, pray daily, consider every decision, you make less mistakes, and when you do make a mistake, you find it easier to heal with the help of the Gospel.  

I am happy with who I am and who I have become, and will always be happy to say, I am a Mormon!

About Me:
  I recently joined the blogging world of fashion and DIY. Outside of my family, it is my new love. With these hobbies, my life has become an enjoyable balancing act. I say enjoyable because I sincerely enjoy being busy! I am a Mormon, professional hair stylist, full time mom and wife, a member of some very active families and I still manage to get dinner on the table (tasty ones if I do say so myself!). But haven’t you realized that you are always trying to find a healthy balance in life? My top priorities and areas that I try to keep balanced are my religion and family. Everything else falls secondary to those two things. I was raised to put family and God first. I know that if I do that, everything else will fall into place. I have noticed that when these two things are out of harmony, so is my life. That is why I am grateful I have my Heavenly Father to lean on. Being a Mormon brings me a certain happiness and joy that I didn't know was fathomable. Even though a new pair of shoes brings me great happiness, the Gospel of Jesus Christ far outweighs that kind of happiness. It is lasting. Think of it, lasting happiness. That is what I am all about and I get it from being a Mormon.

How do I live My Faith?
        I have been taught since I was a young girl that it is important to live my faith by the example I set. Every time I turn around at my house, I see two little hazel eyes watching my every move. My three year old loves to play copy cat when it comes to taking fashion pictures and trying on clothes. I know that if I were to say or wear something inappropriate, it would change what my daughter believes to be right. When I walk out the door each morning, I keep a prayer in my heart that I can set a positive example, look for those who need an extra smile and remember that I am a representative of Christ’s church. I hope that by the way I live my faith, others will see how truly happy being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints makes me.

What is hope and what do you hope for?
         Hope is waking up every day and realizing that your life has a special purpose. I have hope and confidence that I will be able to live beyond this life with my sweet husband and precious girls forever. Even with this wonderful reality, some days are harder than others. Maintaining hope in a Heavenly Father who loves and cares about me and my family keeps my head up on those not-so-awesome days. For the most part, I hope for and look forward to an exciting, adventure filled future. Secretly I am always hoping to find a killer bargain on the latest fashions, but most importantly I hope for an eternal life with my family.

Interested in what this is all about?

For those of you who read my blog, you may or may not know that I am a

 LDS (aka Mormon).

I wasn't raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

I actually grew up Catholic and found out about the church 3 years ago.

Since joining the church in December of 2009 I have heard and read

A LOT of misconceptions regarding the church and about things we do and don't do,

and what we believe and don't believe.

I think a lot of people really don't

have a true knowledge and understanding of what we believe.

I sure didn't at first and it was because of what I read and what I heard.

I never thought I would be able to have such a close relationship with my Heavenly Father.

I am so grateful for this.

I look back sometimes and see where

I was and see where I am today and it amazes me.

God is so good!

So with that being said I came up with

"I am a Mormon Monday"

This is to show the world that

we are normal,  that we are Christian and

that we do believe in Jesus Christ.

About Me:

I am a girl who grew up my whole life in a pretty Mormon-populated community. I had lots of strong friends who were members of the church. I feel so blessed to have had the friends and experiences i had in my youth, because it helped me to become strong and faithful. I then graduated high school, came to a private Mormon school, and married an amazing Mormon boy. It truly is the center of my life and I don't know what I would do without the gospel in my life!

I'm a pretty simple girl. I love the simple things in life... I don't like wearing tons of makeup, doing my hair all crazy,wearing crazy outfits... to me, less is more (: However I do LOVE classy fashion,anything with a vintage touch,floral prints and polka dots!

What is hope and what do you hope for?

To me, hope is to have faith and not give up on certain people, situations, and things in general. I believe in hoping for the best in all situations. Living life in an optimistic way can really change your outlook on everything! I hope for happiness for everyone in the world, I really do!! It makes me so sad to know that there are people suffering in the world. I hope that everyone can feel and find happiness in their life.

How I live my faith:

I live my faith by striving to live the morals and values which I have been taught. I do my best to be considerate and nonjudgmental towards others. When I am able to make someone happy,that brings me happiness as well! It can be hard to serve others when I have a pretty busy schedule with school,homework.. studying.. and work.. but I do my best,especially starting out with my cute husband. I want more than anything to make sure that he is happy,since he brings so much joy into my life!
