I Love My Body

(Baby) Onesie: Carters // Headband: Target
(Me) Headband: Buckle // Sweater: Target // Earrings: Down East Basics // Jeans: Destination Maternity
I have been completely MIA from this little blogging space of mine. Not only because I am a full time Mommy (which is crazy busy), but since having Olivia I have wanted to just devote my full time and attention to her...and it's been so wonderful.

I have missed the blogging world and have especially missed posting a few times a week being able to document my life and all the memories that I want to look back on and cherish forever.
For the past couple of months, I have been SO self conscious about my body image and that is why I have refrained from posting any pictures of myself on my blog or on my Instagram. I have felt like I have to be the weight that I was (135 pounds) to post any fashion posts or just posts in general picturing myself. The weight has been very difficult to get off. I have really been watching what I eat and started drinking Isagenix shakes every morning. In less than a month, I have already lost 11 pounds. So I am getting there and I am proud of myself for the weight that I have been able to lose so far! I have also heard that women who have c-sections, that its a lot harder to get the weight off. Don't know if that is true or not??

For the past few days I have been really thinking and praying about my body image and about this body that God gave me. I woke up this morning looking in the mirror at myself and felt like a million bucks. It doesn't matter if I am not 135 pounds like I was before having Olivia. It doesn't matter if I have a little pooch tummy that sticks out a bit. It doesn't matter if I am still wearing maternity pants and tops. It doesn't matter what others think of me. None of that matters. I am grateful for this wonderful body that I have been blessed with and even MORE grateful for this body that gave me my sweet beautiful daughter that means more than anything to me. So poochy tummy, cellulite, stretch marks, surgery scar and flat butt I will embrace you because I have her. I am still going to work it like it's nobody's business!

I am back to blogging once again!

Come follow me on Instagram.

FASHION FRIDAY LINK UP: PRINTED MAXI

Happy Friday to you! Hope your week has been good to you. I am glad to have you
here for today's Fashion Friday Link Up...so make sure to link up your outfits below!

Last night we met our new Case Worker. She is really nice and seems to be on top of things.
We have had E since April and her case plan is scheduled for nine months. As of right now,
her Mom is completely MIA and is not doing the things that she needs to do in order to have
any chance of getting E or any of her other children back. It's a really sad situation. I hope and pray that her Mom would realize just how special E and her other children really are. I also pray that her Mom will find healing and that she will be able to start making right choices to put her back on the right path, even if that means that her children won't be placed back with her. I pray for God's will for E, her siblings and our family. Josh and I would love the opportunity to be able to adopt E because we feel like she fits so well in our family and has been such a huge blessing in our lives. We will continue to cherish this special time that we have with her, continue to watch God do a work within her and continue to trust God knowing that He is able to do what may seem impossible.

Tonight we have a meeting with E's lawyer who will hopefully have some more
information to give us. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers at this time.

SHOES SENT FROM HEAVEN

A few weeks prior to my Dad passing, he would call himself "Mr. Melancholy". Out of the blue one night when I came home from work he called me into his bedroom and told me that he found this website called Zulily and he wanted me to pick out a few pairs of shoes and some dresses. Well this one night turned into a couple of nights here and there and before I knew it, I thought he bought me enough shoes and dresses to wear a new dress with a new pair of shoes for each day of the week. I kept telling him, "Dad...I really appreciate all this but you really don't have to buy me all this stuff." He would always reply back with "I know I don't have to..but I want to. It reminds me of when you were a little girl and used to open up presents and I loved to see the smile on your face and how happy you were...you do the same thing now and it makes me feel so good." He was such a giver and was always so generous...that is one of the things I loved most about him.

Within about week or two, shipments of shoes and dresses started to arrive at our house here and there. My Dad was the cutest because whenever a shipment would arrive he couldn't wait for me to try them on and model them for him. It brought such a smile to his face and we would both just sit back and laugh.

Two days after my Dad passed, the last thing on my mind was shoes, dresses or anything else for that matter. All I thought about was my Dad and how sudden his death was and how much I missed him. The doorbell rang. Josh answered it. He stepped back into our house holding a package. I knew exactly what it was...another pair of shoes. I was hesitant to open them, because I knew I would get really emotional and my emotions were written all over my face at that moment. Josh came over and handed the box to me and held onto me for a few minutes. "Just think of these as a little gift from your Dad in Heaven. I think you should take them into his room and open them as if he was there." I took the box from him and went into my Dad's room to open them up by myself. I needed this moment alone. As I unwrapped the paper and opened up the box, my eyes immediately filled with water and I started crying. The door opened and Josh walked in to comfort me. " I just wish my Dad was here to see me open them and try them on!" I said. Josh said, "He is here honey...he can see...he can hear. Will you do me a favor? What I want you to do is try them on and model them like he was right here in this room."  I looked at him with a half cracked smile and thought he was silly. "I'm serious!" he said. "Please...do it for me. I think it will make you feel better." So I did. For him. For my sweet Husband whom I love so very much. I put the left heel on and then the right one. I looked over at Josh feeling pretty silly, then got to my feet and started walking around my Dad's room. I walked back and forth a few times in my new heels. Josh was right, my tears faded quickly away. I felt happy and peaceful. A few more shipments have arrived since then and every time I open up a new package, I get so excited. Now every time I wear a pair of shoes or a dress that my Dad bought me I think of him. I think of how much I miss him. I think of how much I love him. I think of how very blessed I am to have a Dad like him.

DOWN EAST BASICS: DAY TO DAY MAXI SKIRT #1

Josh and I just got back from Lake Havasu last Thursday night. We had a blast. It was so nice to finally get away, even if it was only for a few days. I can't tell you how much we both needed this little getaway from home. I had taken Friday off of work also, so that extra day PLUS the weekend was such a plus!

On Friday, Josh and I slept in, had breakfast and then he took me out to a nice lunch and to two of my favorite places Deseret Book and Down East Basics

Down East Basics had a buy one get 1/2 off sale going on, so you better believe I stocked up on all the skirts and dresses I could get my hands on! Josh kept coming to the dressing room with skirts and dresses "Oh..try on this one" and "How about this one?" He's too cute! I love him to pieces!

Below is one of the maxi skirts Josh picked out. I love the color and fun print of this skirt, but the best part is its long....like touching the ground and being able to wear heels or wedges long......just the way I like them.

Weekend Style: Pearls, Polka-Dots, Heart Shaped Sunnies and Blinged Out Phone Case

I cannot tell you just how nice it was to have yesterday off! I got to spend the ENTIRE day with Josh.
It was so great. I really cherish those moments of quality time with my love. Quality time where we can
talk, laugh, sleep in together, have lunch, run errands, do house projects and just plain be together and
enjoy each others company. Yesterday we slept in together, had a meeting at the PHX Open for the
Thunderbirds, had lunch/went shopping at Tempe Marketplace, fun house projects/decorating together
and BBQed hamburgers last night. It was a busy fun-filled day and I enjoyed every single second of it!

I am in LOVE with this blinged out phone case from Born to Be Pretty
The quality is great and I love the detail of all the rhinestones. When out and about, I get so many people asking me where I bought it at! I can tell you right now that I won't be changing my phone case for while!
Talk about cheap! Most of their cases are just under $5.00! Check out their I-Phone cases HERE

Sparkle Coated Tee & New Hair Color

I love finding clothes that have little details like lace, polka dots, rhinestones or sequins like this this top that I am wearing from Down East Basics. Instead of it just being a plain black tee, the small patch of sequin detail definitely adds to the top and completely changes the entire look of it. Pink and black together is one of my favorites, so I decided to pair it with my pink pencil skirt and grabbed my turquoise Forever 21 cross body purse to add another color. Speaking of color, I decided to color my hair over the weekend. It was as dark brown, almost black. I decided to change it up and go for a burgundy color. What do you think?

I AM A SUCKER FOR ANYTHING VINTAGE

Sunglasses: Jessica Simpson // Necklace: White House Black Market //
Ring: Ross // Bracelets: F21 // Shoes: Bamboo (Ross) // Skirt: Ever + Mi Crush

Have you guys ever heard of Ever + Mi Crush?

Ever +Mi Crush is a vintage infused online woman's clothing store that was started by Christen and her husband Peter. Their online clothing store is a culmination of their love for art, design, music, and fashion.  From the beginning of their relationship, they wanted to put their passion to use, let their personalities shine, and make something of their own that they could pour themselves into.

Ever + Mi Crush is different from other online stores because they strive to sell uniquely designed clothing pieces and handcrafted jewelry. They are also looking to sell prints and artwork soon too!

I was wondering what the meaning behind the name was, but if you mix their loves (crushes) and their two adorable little boys, Everett & Miles together. Ta-da!! You have Ever+Mi Crush!! Get it?!?!

Christen came across my blog and was kind enough to send me this vintage mustard-colored skirt.

When I was browsing through the clothing on their website and saw this skirt I immediately fell in love. For those of you who might know me.... I am a sucker for anything vintage! When I tried on this skirt, it fit me perfect. I really love the detail of the bow at the waistband to give the skirt a dressier look. The material is lightweight, but very well made especially for the price! This is definitely going to be a skirt that I wear all the time! The color is also transitional for spring, summer, fall and winter!

Here are a few of my favorites from their website:
