3 Year Anniversary & Missing Buttons

Last Saturday, we celebrated our three year Anniversary since we were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Josh had made reservations at our favorite Japanese restaurant close to our house where they cook the food in front of you. It's a pretty low-key restaurant, so I wanted to dress comfy while still looking a little dressy. As I was looking through my closet, I pulled out this F21 blouse that I am wearing. I love this blouse so much. It's classy, flowy, and I love the gold button accents on the front (the ones you can't see). The problem is, I haven't been able to wear this blouse in the longest time because it's missing two gold buttons in the front. I have been meaning to buy some new ones to sew on, but haven't gotten around to it. So...my simple fix was to throw on a pretty light pink sparkly scarf to cover up the missing buttons and to add a little bit of color. I love this look, but I still need to buy those 2 buttons!

FYI: Down East Basics is having a HUGE sale right now through January 5th.

FASHION FRIDAY LINK UP

Happy Friday friends! I hope you all have had a wonderful productive week!

I have 4 words for today: Three hours of sleep

Do you ever have those nights where you just can't sleep?!? They are the worst!
Tossing, turning and you just can't get comfortable or relax for anything? Well.....
Last night was one of those nights. I wouldn't mind so much, but today is going to be one LONG day! I have been up since 5:40am, have to work at my FT job until 4pm and then drive straight to Mesa to work a  Glamour on Wheels birthday party from 5:30-8pm. So I probably won't be home until around 9:30pm. Phew! I said a prayer on the way to work today asking God to give me the strength and energy that I need to get through this day. I know He will follow through!!! I will be like the energizer bunny getting everything done!!!

Even though I am exhausted, I am never too tired to blog or talk about fashion!
This has to be one of my favorite skirts by far. I thrifted this Ann Taylor skirt for just $3.99 at SAVERS. Gosh I love that place! Not only do I love the fit and the quality of this skirt...and of course the price, but I love how bold and colorful the print is. I have been playing it safe and just pairing this skirt with a black top and black heels, but I think I would like to venture out and see how this skirt would look with some colored heels.

Sunnies: Jessica Simpson // Earrings: F21 // Shirt: H&M //
Skirt: Ann Taylor (Thrifted for $3.99) // Bracelets: TJ Maxx

My Mom bought me these two bracelets. I love the orange colored and how sparkly and shiny they are!
They were the perfect match for this skirt and really brought the orange of the flowers in the skirt out.

FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND

Sunglasses: Jessica Simpson // Top: Ross // Skirt: F21 // Purse: TJ Maxx // Jewelry: F21 // Shoes: Payless

My friend Ayesha and I had to work a wedding over the weekend in Phoenix.
It was at a place called Encanto Park. The park was beautiful and had so many
spots to take some fun pictures. So I did! As I was editing the pictures and saw
the picture she took of my shoes, it reminded me of one of my favorite poems
called Footprints In The Sand. We have this poem hanging in our guest bathroom
upstairs. It was sent to us as a "just because" gift from my Dad when we moved in.
I love its message...every time I read it, I can think of different times in my life when
I have felt this way. He lifts us, He carries us, and He loves us more than we can imagine.
Trust in Him and let him carry you........

Footprints In The Sand

One night I had a dream...

I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord, and
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.

For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand;
One belonged to me, and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of my life flashed before us,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.

I noticed that many times along the path of my life,
There was only one set of footprints.

I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
and saddest times in my life.

This really bothered me, and I questioned the Lord about it.

"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
You would walk with me all the way;

But I have noticed that during the
most troublesome times in my life,
There is only one set of footprints.

I don't understand why in times when I
needed you the most, you should leave me.

The Lord replied, "My precious, precious
child. I love you, and I would never,
never leave you during your times of
trial and suffering.

When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you.

MY FAMOUS FACE

Sunglasses: Jessica Simpson // Necklace: Thrifted // Top: Halftee // Shoes: DSW //
Dress (The Limited) Thrifted // Clutch (F21) Thrifted // Ring: F21 // Watch: Vegas

I wanted to share a little something with you guys....maybe you need to hear this today...I know I did.

Don’t you stop. Don’t you dare give up. Not even for a moment. Even through the worst of times you can feel Him. Do not stop yourself. Help is always there. Comfort is always there. Christ is always there. Not ever will He leave. Not once. Not even for a second. Turn to Him. Trust. Listen. Keep going always. You can do this. And it will be greater than you ever could have imagined for yourself. And you will look back and be blown away and left speechless with the direction your life has gone in.

-Al Fox

I can relate SO much to this quote by Al Fox.  These last few days weeks have been such a whirlwind. Looking back at one of my journal entries this morning, I made a promise to myself a few weeks ago. I promised myself that I could either sit and dwell on the things I can't change or have any control over or hand it all over to God. I have chosen to go with the second option and give it all to Him who knows best. In this season of "waiting" I have turned my entire focus to growing closer to God. What a difference.! I feel my happiest and more at peace when I make Him my main focus in everything. I have grown to love and enjoy seasons of "waiting". It helps us grow, to be refined, to become stronger, to trust Him more, to draw closer to Him more, to learn patience and to pray even more and even harder for the things we desire or are going through. I can honestly say that these last few weeks have been greater than I could have ever imagined! There have been so many great things that have happened... one thing in particular that I still cannot wrap my head around. Shhhh!! I can't tell you just yet...but its HUGE!! You will NOT believe it! God is just blowing me away!
I never ever ever ever thought that He was going to take us down this path but I am so excited
for this wonderful new journey and looking forward to how He is going to put all the pieces to this puzzle together. So... right now if you are in your season of "waiting" ....I say to you to continue to wait, continue to trust, continue to rely on Him, continue to have hope for the things that are to come that He will bless you with. He wants to bless you, He loves you more than you know!!

I thought I would show you guys my "famous" gopher face! I made this face once in High School
as a joke one time and ever since then its.... "Oh let me see that gopher face!" Well here it is guys.....

Wow! I need to get a tan! Look how white those legs are!
