Foster Care Update
Hello
friends! I hope your week is going great so far. Mine has been busy to
say the least. Tonight Josh and I might be going to a car seat training class
for two hours (another requirement to become foster parents). We are
pretty excited about it. We already have a car seat, so the class is
free which is great, otherwise it would have cost us $35 to use one of
their car seats to train with. Another thing to cross off the list!
Wahoo! It's
crazy to think just how close we are to getting our first placement in
our home. It literally seems like we were attending training classes
just a few weeks ago! We are hoping to have our first placement by the
beginning or end of March (God willing). We have been preparing as much
as we can, but when you think about it, there is really no time to
prepare. Placement happens within 2-4 hours, and then a little kiddo
will show up on our doorstep. It will just happen, just like that! We just have to continually trust that God will help us out every single step of
the way through all of this. Josh and I know without a shadow of a doubt
that God has called us to become foster parents. How blessed and grateful we feel that
He has chosen us to care for these wonderful children. That He trusts
us enough and knows that we will do everything we can to care for these
kiddos. So here we are on this new and unexpected journey. We are
stepping out in faith, trusting Him and trusting what He has in store
for us. We are ready for it all! We have been starting to get the room together here and there and wanted to show you what we have done so far. Its not much....buts its a start. Now we just need to fill the room with pictures, bedding, a lamp, a rugs, toys, etc. What do you think? Do you have any suggestions or fun ideas for this room? If so, I would love to hear from you! Comment below please!
