CHIHULY IN THE GARDEN

Last night, my Mom and I went to the Desert Botanical Gardens to see the exhibit Chihuly In The Garden. It was absolutely packed!! Before letting us into the parking area, the guard said that for most people it was taking them anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to try and find a parking space.  We both figured well we came all this way, we might as well try and see if we can get one. Boom! Found one in 15 minutes! We toured the garden for about an hour. The glass pieces displayed were so amazing and beautiful. It makes you wonder how much time and work goes into making just one of these pieces. They are so detailed and delicate. Dale Chihuly's work is included in more than 200 museum collections worldwide and he has received many awards including twelve honorary doctorates  and two fellowships from the National Endowments for the Arts. His work is simply amazing!!

Phoenix Open 2014

Over the weekend on Saturday, I worked as the "photographer" for the Thunderbirds. It was so much fun!  It also worked out great, because I was able to become one with our new camera and really get a feel for how it works. The weather was also perfect...chilly at times with the wind, but overall gorgeous! This year was a set record for the amount of people that showed up. They estimated over 200,000 people showed  up on Saturday. Craziness. Best part about my Saturday...I got to be with Josh and my best friend. Score!

  

FARMERS MARKET

 

 

 

A few weeks back Kerrin, Paola and I went to the farmer's market  at Road Runner Park. We had such a blast together, except for the fact that we were dripping in sweat!  After looking and exploring for a little bit, Kerrin bought a breakfast burrito and we  sat down in the grass to relax, talk and hang out.

We each tried a small bite of her burrito. A few seconds later my mouth was on fire! I am not a big fan 

of anything spicy or hot for that matter. My husband on the other hand will dump hot sauce on

everything if he could.  I love farmer's markets and I would like to visit other ones in the valley too.
