TRUST.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. -Proverbs 3:5-6

I pray that we may we all face our challenges with faith, endurance, and TRUST in our Heavenly Father and in His plan for each of us. Remember, it’s not what happens to us that matters; it’s how we handle what happens that makes all the difference. Even when the universe itself seems shattered and the shards of our world lie littered about us in pieces, the Savior’s power and assurance can still make it possible for us to experience joy and peace. I know that the Savior will abide with you in your darkest hour. He is there, He is always there and He has declared, “In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

To All Mothers..

Elder Hollands words are still running through my mind. His words hit me so deep. "To all mothers in every circumstance, including those who struggle- and all will- I say "Be peaceful. Believe in God and yourself. You are doing better than you think you are. In fact, you are saviors on Mount Zion, and like the Master you follow, your love never faileth." -Elder Holland

5 Ways to Become More Spiritual

Spirituality can help you in all aspects of life. It can boost your overall health, happiness, and relationships that you have with yourself and others. Spirituality can help you become more grateful, give you hope, and reduce stress. According to this blog it can even help you as you strive to overcome addictions. No matter what religion you belong to, you can always find ways to more fully connect to yourself, to nature, and to God. There is a force that connects all of us, and we can become healthier and happier if allow ourselves to reach out and connect to that force. Being spiritual can help you feel like you belong, especially if you join a religious group. Read on for 5 ways that you can strengthen your life by becoming more spiritual. Take Time to Be Still Psalms 46:10 offers this counsel, “Be still and know that I am God.” Our lives are filled with activities, including shopping, cooking, working, recreation, cleaning, building relationships, etc. It is important to pause and take time to think. Turn off the TV, put your phone away, and go somewhere quiet. Take the time to ponder, meditate, and relax. Quiet your thoughts and really connect to the world around you. Focus on your breathing, and listen to your internal thoughts, feelings, and impressions. If you would like to, do some yoga during this time. Be still for 15 minutes every day. It is helpful to do this exercise out in nature, whenever possible. Clean Up Your Life Take the time to clean your life. Spend a few minutes a day to organize your room, kitchen or workspace. Get rid of things that you no longer need such as clothes, furniture, and cooking supplies. If you are up for the challenge, make a major life change and “clean up your act” so to speak. Identify something that you can change, whether that is recongizing that you are overweight, have an addiction, use foul language, or have a personal moral inconsistency. Clean toxic relationships out of your life. Cut off ties to people who drag you down. Also clean negative emotions from your life. Let go of any grudges that you might be holding. Forgive, forget, and move on. Love More Fully John 13:34 reads “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” Really try to love the people that you come in contact with. Ask people how their day is, and take the time to listen. Call a friend or family member that you have not talked to for some time. If there is someone at work that you can barely tolerate, try to focus on the good things that they do instead of all of their character flaws. Stop expecting people to return favors, and serve just for the sake of service. Make sure that you let people know that you love them by telling them frequently, especially spouses and family members. Be grateful for those you are allowed to associate with, because you never know how long you will be able to enjoy them in your life. Read Reading can lift your spirits, give you a new perspective, and help you relax. Read and ponder the scriptures more often, finding spiritual gems that will inspire you to be a little better. Find books that make you feel edified. Read quote books to bring you joy and laughter. Reading can slow certain degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Dementia. It also boosts your vocabulary, memory, and analytical thinking. Reading is also quite entertaining. The best part about reading is that you can do it for free with the help of the internet or your local library. You should read 15 minutes every day. Set Goals Set individual goals to help you live a more fulfilling life. Those goals could be spiritual in nature, like reading the scriptures more frequently, or they can be secular, like learning a new skill or hobby. Make yourself accountable by keeping a goal journal, or by reporting to a family member or friend. Most people fail to keep goals because they set their sights too high. Break down large goals into smaller, more manageable tasks. Realize that change takes time, and be patient with yourself. Celebrate every time you accomplish one of your goals, even if the celebration is something small like crossing it off a list or verbally congratulating yourself.

4 Months Old

Dear Miss Olivia.

These past 4 months have been so beautiful and such a blessing and I say that not to imply that everything has been perfect but that you are perfect and have made our family so happy and whole. I love the way you've changed, you are so much fun and fill our home with such love and joy with your playful spirit. My days with you are such a gift, each day you remind me what life is about. I see our Creator through you and in you. You literally take my breath away when I stare at you sometimes... you are so beautiful when you sleep, so beautiful when you smile, so beautiful when you need me, so beautiful how you trust, so beautiful the way you play, so beautiful with daddy, so beautiful as you learn, so so beautiful... There is no better word to describe you. You are beautiful. You are the most magnificent beautiful being I have ever seen. It warms my heart that God loves you even more than I. I'm forever thankful for you and cannot believe that God chose me to be your mama.

Happy Four months my little beautiful peach!
